Our History

The foundation of Arundel Design Build was laid over three decades ago. After two decades of experience in construction engineering across the U.S. and Brazil, our founder set out to create something new—combining deep expertise in engineering and design with hands-on construction delivery.

In June 2004, Drijam Enterprises was founded to construct both internally designed projects and those developed by external architects. Initially focused in South Florida, the company expanded across the southeastern U.S., delivering high-profile projects such as work for the Catholic Diocese at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Palm Beach and the historic renovation of the Strand Hotel condos in Miami Beach. Additional projects included restaurants, bars, and multi-family housing for the West Palm Beach Housing Authority.

In 2008, the company relocated to Dallas, Texas, and rebranded as Emerald Building Services. Emerald continued to design and construct a wide range of commercial projects, including restaurants, retail, medical facilities, and sports complexes—ranging from ground-up builds to tenant improvements.

In 2014, Emerald partnered with Arundel Construction to begin self-performing concrete, sitework, and utility services. This collaboration led to a full acquisition of Arundel Construction two years later. With that, the company adopted the Arundel name, evolving into Arundel Design Build to better reflect its comprehensive capabilities in design and construction.

To streamline its growing range of services, the sitework, concrete, and utility division was spun off into a separate entity: ECG Site Services. Today, ECG provides these services not only to Arundel Design Build but also to other general contractors and municipalities across Texas. To manage its expanding portfolio of companies, Arundel Group Holdings, LLC was formed as the parent organization.

Arundel Design Build collaborates closely with its sister company, Ellis and Levine Engineering, LLC, to offer fully integrated in-house engineering and design services. Today, Arundel Design Build continues to take on some of the region’s most complex commercial projects.

In 2020, the company expanded into development.  In this sector, Arundel offers a full suite of services including site selection, zoning, planning, and acquisitions through its affiliated company, Arundel Development.
